Job Description
: The Learning Experience – Clinton Hill (TLE – Clinton Hill) is seeking candidates for 3K and PreK After School Director (3 - 5 years old) positions for the NYC DOE-funded classrooms in our play-based early childhood development center in the Clinton Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn serving children from six weeks to five years of age.

Principal Areas Of Responsibility
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management as per program needs.
  • Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Maintain a 11:30am - 6:00pm schedule, Monday-Friday.
  • Attend staff meetings and on-going training opportunities.
  • Work as a part-time program director (30 hours a week) as part of a high-expectations, high-achievement performance culture that integrates best practice from New York City, New York State and The Learning Experience.
  • Provide a safe and healthy environment for students
  • Perform all duties related to childcare, including, potty training, diapering, feeding, cleaning, and nurturing.
  • Encourage positive participation of students using enrichment and play-based activities to develop all aspects of their mental, physical, and social beings.
  • Maintain all required credentials necessary for the role.
  • Develop and execute creatively on lesson plans focusing on diversity, social, and emotional learning, along with enrichment, curriculum themes, indoor and outdoor play, combining the arts and hands-on experiences with supportive guidance from management.
Required Credentials: As a licensed program through the Department of Education and Department of Health, 3K and Pre-K Teachers must:
  • Be at least eighteen years old; and
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Preferred Credentials
  • Familiarity with New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Article 47 regulations
  • 1-3 years experience as a teacher for children under six years old
We will support in the process of completing these additional requirements:
  • DOI Fingerprinting/PETS Clearance
  • SCR Clearance
  • State-Mandated Trainings: Mandated Reporter Training, Preventing Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and Promoting Safe Sleeping Training, Prevention and Identification of Brain Injuries, including Abusive Head Trauma (AHT) Training, Foundations in Health and Safety Training
  • Physical including immunizations and letter of good health from doctor, within last 12 months

Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
