After-Care Teacher


Compensation: $13.50 - $16.35 (based on additional credentials and experience)


Work Schedule


Monday - Friday


2PM - 6PM or 3PM - 6PM


(opportunity for additional hours for staff absences/vacations)


Location:


Olde Richmond section of Philadelphia at the beautifully-renovated Huntingdon Mills site (2137 E. Huntingdon Street, Philadelphia, PA 19125).

CORA is seeking an After-Care Teacher to assist in providing after care services to children ranging in age from 2 years - school age (5th grade level).


Working As An After-Care Teacher You Will


  • Adhere to schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime.
  • Participate in individual and group activities to actively engage children and encourage cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Help to monitor growth and development of children based on established learning objectives using age-appropriate assessment tools.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy learning environment including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
  • Participate collaboratively and professionally with other teachers and staff to promote the general well-being of the Early Years program.


Qualified Candidates Should Possess


  • Minimum of two years documented experience working with an early childhood population.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Willingness to obtain Infant/child CPR and First Aid Certification if not certified
  • Passion and skill for working with children.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with children, colleagues, and families.
  • Special skills in art, music, drama, science/STEM, sports highly desired
  • Understanding of child development.
