Adventure Park Guide Supervisor - New Zoo

Brown County is seeking an energetic individual to be a Guide Supervisor at the Adventure Park at the NEW Zoo. The guide supervisor will assist in daily operations and maintenance of the Adventure Park located at the NEW Zoo in Suamico, WI. The Adventure Park consists of an aerial challenge course, dual racing 1,000-foot zip-lines, 32-foot-high climbing wall, kid’s kourse, fat bike rental fleet, and new aerial canopy tour. The guide supervisor will be responsible for providing our guests with a recreational and educational experience from start to finish. This position is in a growing and quickly evolving adventure park industry. Job duties will include customer service, vending and ticket sales, cash handling, proper use/inspection/fitting of personal protection equipment, group program facilitation, and course inspection. • Primary focus is on SAFE overall Adventure Park operations, and program facilitation.
• Coordinates daily operations of fat bike rental program.
• Supervise Adventure Park guides and concession staff.
• Facilitate experiential education group programs. Candidate shall have facilitation experience or the ability/interest to learn group facilitation theory.
• Performs point of sale operations and pass sales following county cash handling policies at the Adventure Park.
• Will also assist with performing adventure course inspection and maintenance.

• Assist with equipment and course set up and take down
• Maintain quality working relationships with co-workers and visitors
• Assist in daily operation of the canopy tour
• Maintain records as required by supervisor
• Create and develop programming for both the Adventure Park and aerial canopy tour
• Assist with admissions and concessions
• Assist in inspections and documenting inspections of ziplines, aerial challenge course, kids kourse, climbing wall, and aerial canopy tour
• Assist with grounds maintenance
• Ensure a safe and enjoyable adventure for visitors at all times. Safety is our #1 goal.
• Lead bike rental program operations

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Marketing, Communications preferred
• Group program planning and facilitation experience
• Able to complete the appropriate training and receive Level 1 Site Specific Certification sponsored by Brown County. Our park follows all ACCT training and safety policies.
• Must be 18 years or older

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Work varying shifts including weekends
• Able to work in adverse outdoor conditions
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Able to wear a full body harness

HOURS:

• Guide Supervisor is a very active position which requires long workdays
• The Adventure Park is open daily 10am – 6pm during the operating season
• Guide Supervisor should expect to work many varied shifts as needed including nights, holidays and weekends

• Comfortable operating point of sale system and cash handling
• Ability to learn and apply advanced technical skills

• Ability to be active for an entire 8+ hour shift
