The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an Advanced Chemist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
  • Use statistical data analysis methods to evaluate analytical test data.
  • Analyze environmental samples using Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry methods [LC-MS/MS).
  • Implementing and evaluating procedures to improve sample preparation and analysis efficiency and productivity.
  • Prepare detailed laboratory reports, data sheets, and other documentation in accordance to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Good Laboratory Practices (GLP’s) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 17025 testing laboratory accreditation.
  • Prepare environmental samples using multiple methods of sample preparation/extraction techniques.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Science (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
  • Two (2) years of experience performing LC/MS/MS analysis within a private, public, government or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
  • Experience in a USEPA GLP compliant and/or ISO/IEC 17025 accredited environmental testing laboratory
  • Four (4) years of experience performing LC-MS/MS analysis
  • Experience in test method development and validations
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Biology or a related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Experience working with a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks/projects and manage priorities accordingly
Work location: Maplewood, MN
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized.
