Position Details:
Summary of Duties:
The Admissions Recruiter/Counselor is responsible for focusing on and promoting WSU Everett undergraduate programs by developing, expanding, and strengthening key relationships with leaders in education and communities in assigned area. This position will establish and maintain strong working relationships with high school and community college counselors, teachers, and other school administrators to increase prospective student inquiries and enrollment.
Additional duties include: outreach to community organizations, event attendance, representing the university at community events, recruitment events, representing the department on various committees, training meetings and development opportunities. This position must be available to work a flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and presenting information to groups.
  • Positions require a Bachelor's Degree and one (1) year of experience directly related to student services. A Master's degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • While using a private vehicle for official business, the successful candidate must have current automobile liability insurance (meeting the requirements described in RCW 46.30.020 and RCW 46.29.090).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Broad working knowledge of policies and procedures in a complex academic institution.
  • Knowledge of admissions procedures, academic programs, financial aid and scholarships and a broad base of knowledge regarding WSU.
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in community organizations and/or volunteer experience with undeserved populations.
  • Experience recruiting in an urban setting.
  • Knowledge of student recruitment and college admissions.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, prospect software (CRM), and enterprise systems.
  • Experience recruiting students at a four-year institution as well as recruiting from community colleges.
  • Experience working in education or with high school and/or college students.

Monthly Salary: $4,166.67 - $5,000 | In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range. For additional information, please review WSU's Administrative Professional Compensation.
