Position Description

Advertised Job Summary
The Admissions Counselor represents the University of South Carolina Sumter to traditional and nontraditional prospective students, as well as their parents, and high school guidance counselors and administrators. The position is located at the University of South Carolina Sumter and covers an assigned geographic region in the state of South Carolina. Travel within the state of South Carolina will be expected as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and two or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Background experience in admissions, public relations, sales experience or other student personnel area desired. Preference will be given to those who currently live in the existing geographic market and have knowledge of the local secondary schools.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of student services in higher education.

Position Attributes
