Admission Nurse Job Qualifications
  • Current Nurse license active in the state of Wisconsin.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or Registered Nurse (RN) license are acceptable.
  • 2 years’ experience as admissions nurse, preferred.
Admission Nurse Job Overview
The Admission Nurse position requires exceptional time management in a fast-paced environment. Time will be spent between multiple buildings and Hospitals, depending on what building is admitting and if an onsite is required. The Admissions Nurse will work closely with the Director of Care Transitions on a daily basis to determine what building will be admitting and when. The Admission Nurse will also be trained to be the DCT’s backup. The Admission Nurse must have an active and current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Admissions Nurse Job Duties
  • Place patient info into CRM system on waiting list.
  • Bring them the referral packet as well as to the front desk.
  • Notify all team members of the patient’s arrival and their name.
  • Forward admission notification email to all leadership in facility, and appropriate financial support team members.
  • If any special equipment is needed, be sure these items are in the patient’s room prior to admission.
  • Check room readiness.
  • Introduce patient to call light, show tv operation, room number, phone number to facility and orientate to surroundings.
  • Create admission notification document and distribute to internal team: Administrator, DON, and Nurse working the unit of new admit.
  • Upon admission, meet patient in the room immediately.
  • Process for new admissions (ex: name tags, stickers, admit board)
