A Brief Overview


The Administrative Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations, coordination, and evaluation of the Administrative Department and employees.


What You Will Do


  • Assist Department Director and senior leadership with audits and reports to help determine and advise on appropriate actions, and operating procedures through the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Advise and develop sound organization methods and procedures as they relate to the Administration Department functions.
  • Establish policies and procedures to ensure the use of DU’s brand and logo are consistent and professional and reflective of the mission, vision and values of the organization.
  • Oversee the implementation of company security requirements related to the Administration Department’s functions, to include policy development and implementation.
  • Support HR and Training functions as needed.
  • Oversee the management of policies and procedures company wide.
  • Establish the communications policies and procedures to include schedules, format, and review of content to ensure that communications meet security and confidentiality requirements, are professional and reflect the mission, vision and values of the organization.
  • Provide overall leadership, guidance, and supervision to the Administration Department employees.
  • Responsible for the oversight of corporate travel and adherence to related policies.
  • Oversee the company’s document management processes related to document handling security requirements and records retention.
  • Oversee the DU Cares Employee Giving Program to ensure compliance with program policy and procedures.
  • Participate in annual budget formulation process and monitor budget expenditures to ensure that expenses are reasonable and allocated to the appropriate general ledger.
  • Determine and advise on ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operations and work distribution and to coordinate activities within the office.
  • Coordinates and manages office workload, acting as the lead in activities related to office management, emergency management, and resolving problems related to office operations.


Conditions of Employment


  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test, random drug test thereafter in accordance with the published policy of Doyon Utilities.
  • Eligibility to work on a military installation includes compliance with Department of Defense mandates with respect to employee background and health directives.
  • Must have a valid driver's license issued by the State of Alaska. Must be eligible to work on a military installation in Alaska.


Qualifications


  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and customer service skills.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field. Will consider combination of post-secondary education and extensive related experience as a substitute for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis. Required
  • 3 years of supervisory experience. Required
  • 4 years of job-related experience. Required
  • Strong problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
