Job Description
Start Date: June 2019


The Special Education Program seeks an adjunct to teach Advanced Pedagogies for Teaching Math during the Summer 2019 semester. This is an online 1.5 credit course offered in the Special Education concentration of the M.Ed. program. Course dates run from June 10 August 5, 2019, with student grades due on August 12. The course uses the Canvas online learning platform, and students are expected to participate in weekly discussion forums and Zoom meetings. The instructor is responsible for ensuring that students meet all learning objectives and successfully complete the course as outlined in the syllabus.


Preferred


in math or education (with an emphasis in special education) preferred, or one of the following equivalent experiences


Candidates should have excellent communication skills, mature interpersonal skills and ability to work independently. A Ph.D.


  • A master's degree in math and/or special education, professional licensure, certification, or specialized training in the relevant area(s), and at least three years of full-time experience in an area directly related to the subject matter being taught;
  • A master's degree in math and/or special education, with demonstrable course work in related content and pedagogy, three years of outstanding teaching, and evidence of continuing education in the content area;
  • A master's degree in math and/or special education and at least five years of exceptional experience (recognized by peers in the field) in an area directly related to the subject matter being taught.


Preference will be given to those with significant experience in teaching math in special needs situations.
