Highland Oaks is a small 52-bed long term care facility looking to hire an Activity Director for 32 hours per week.

The Director of Activities is responsible for the overall administration of the Activities Department, performance of Activity functions as they relate to resident and quality of Activity services delivered to the residents of the long-term care facility. The Director of Activities shall organize and instruct crafts, plan and implement varied activities, contact and introduce the Activities program to all residents, supervise Activities personnel and participate in residents' plan of care and documentation.

Requirements:
  • Preferably, have a minimum of one year's experience in long-term care Activity Department setting.
  • Must be able to adequately manage Activity employees and create a team atmosphere.
  • Must have excellent computer skills and be comfortable with technology.
  • Must be a certified Activity Director, Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), Occupational Therapist Registered and Licensed (OTR/L), a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) OR complete the 36-hour Illinois Activity Director Course within 180 days of hire.
  • Must work in the facility 4 days per week in accordance with IDPH regulations.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Must possess physical stamina required for standing long periods of time (a minimum of two hours), stooping, lifting and transferring residents with dead weight lifting ability of at least 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with residents, family of residents, volunteers, employees and community members.
