Job Description

Humana's Neighborhood Centers in North Carolina are looking for a full-time Activity Coordinator who is knowledgeable and passionate about our senior community to join our team. A Neighborhood Center is a facility that offers a unique calendar of special events, programs and activities designed to help improve physical and mental health for Humana members and their guest.

Responsibilities

This role is full -time hours to meet the business needs at the North Carolina Centers. The schedule for the Activity Coordinator is 40 hours a week, schedule is flexible during operating hours of the Neighborhood Center, Monday-Friday (no weekends). This position does require travel to multiple North Carolina Neighborhood Center locations each week. Locations include: Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Charlotte and Raleigh. Must have reliable transportation and be flexible with travel time/travel schedule.

As the Activity Coordinator, you will schedule the Wellness Center meeting rooms and fitness rooms for pre-programmed classes, activities and/or events. You will demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards Center members and guests. When members need assistance, willingness to find resources to assist or find a resolution to complaints. Recognizing our member happiness, enjoyment and safety is top priority for our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle in-bound and out-bound calls to/from Center members
  • Greet Center members during the check-in process
  • Plan, promote and coordinate programs to provide members with a variety fitness and social activities

Required Qualifications

  • Retail/hospitality experience a plus.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs to set up equipment or receive packages at the Center.
  • Cheerful, pleasant, knowledgeable and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work closely and engage with senior population.
  • A valid driver license and dependable transportation necessary
  • Experience in a consumer facing role involving structured and planned activities.
  • Flexible with ability to work in a fluid environment and positive attitude regarding finding solutions to challenges.
  • Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
  • Collaborative and interacts well with a broad spectrum of individuals.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a previous administrative role or related experience in a professional environment
  • Ability to work independently under general instructions and with a team.
  • Excellent time management, and organizational skills
  • Computer skills -including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to manage many details related to data entry, scheduling, follow-up requests and file maintenance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively/professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Career experience or previous work with the senior adult community
  • Health Plan experience, including Medicare/Medicaid
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a PLUS
  • Nutrition knowledge
  • Experience as a Personal Trainer and/or performing wellness and recreational activities.
  • Degree in a Health-related field
  • Experience in Community health outreach programs

Additional Information

This position is an on-site, consumer facing role. This role will require considerable travel for up to 4 locations in Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Charlotte and Raleigh. Full-time position schedule is 8:30-5pm Monday-Friday.

Vaccine Policy

Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field. Every associate and contractor who work inside a Humana facility or in the field, regardless of vaccination status, must complete a daily health screening questionnaire.
