The elevator pitch…
You’re an efficient financial expert, who will find joy at making an impact at a high growth start-up. Our Accountant will support Accounting and Financial Reporting functions. Ideally, you have expertise in a Big 4 accounting firm or the residential real estate ecosystem (non-bank mortgage origination, interest rate locks, hedging programs) and enjoy collaborating with a variety of leaders and functions. This role reports to Sr Accountant.
Our target candidate has 3+ years of financial professional experience, potentially a CPA, 2+ years with a public accounting firm, and real estate content knowledge.
This role is in office Monday through Wednesday, and remote optional Thursday & Friday.
Responsibilities
The things you’ll be doing…
  • Change Making: Observe and provide recommendations on financial process improvement. Enhance our cash flow systems. Create a top notch treasury function.
  • Auditing: Contribute to annual and quarterly audits while partnering with auditors, advisors & legal counsel.
  • Executing : Participate in all aspects of accounting (general accounting, AP, AR), financial reporting, treasury and payroll.
  • Technical Advising: Research and analyze complex accounting issues, applying relevant technical guidance and interpretation while providing documentation and recommendations to personnel across the company.
  • Budget Management: Analyze financial statements, annual budgets, financial trends and ongoing forecasts.
  • Reduce Risk: Develop and maintain adequate internal controls and disclosure.
  • Organizing: Operate two accounting platforms (NetSuite and Loan Vision) that can accommodate the company’s differing divisions/businesses and provide actionable financial data.
  • Reporting: Monthly reconciliations, cash flow reporting, journal entries, flux analysis. Reviewing financial states for internal and external reporting purposes. Tax preparation, tax provisions and tax compliance reporting.

  • Creatively coming up with solutions and executing new “ways of working” rapidly

  • A current or former public company employee with experience on SEC reporting and guidelines.
  • A consumer industry financial expert (bonus points for residential mortgage origination experience)
  • An expert with NetSuite, Loan Vision & Microsoft Excel
The expected annual compensation for this position will be between $85,000 - 95,000.
