    Notes: Will support SLP with an average caseload of 50-60. Candidates must have previous school and IEP experience. Must be comfortable working with all school grades (all age ranges) and all behaviors (Affective needs Program experience would be great).

      Job Requirements

      • One (1) year of prior professional Speech-Language Pathology Assistant experience preferred; home care experience preferred
      • Shall achieve and maintain professional competence
      • Undergraduate Certificate degree preferred
      • Must be at least 18 years of age
      • Supports the supervising SLP in research projects, in-service training, public relations programs and marketing programs
      • May serve as an interpreter for patients, clients, students, and families who do not speak English
      • Assists the SLP with bilingual translation during screening and assessment activities exclusive of interpretation
      • Provides services under the supervision of the SLP in another language for individuals who do not speak English and English-language learners
      • Complies with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding professional standards and practice standards
      • Current certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in the State of Practice
      • Demonstrates or shares information with patients, families, caregivers, and staff regarding feeding strategies developed and directed by the SLP as State Practice Acts permit
      • Programs and provides instruction in the use of augmentative and alternative communication devices
      • May assist with clerical duties, such as preparing materials and scheduling activities, as directed by the SLP
      • Assists the SLP with speech, language, and hearing screenings without clinical interpretation
      • Exhibits compliance with The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and
      • Must be a graduate of a SLPA program with an associate’s degree, or have a bachelor’s degree in a speech-language pathology or communication disorders program

      • Maxim Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant, The Speech Language Pathologist in providing speech and language services. The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant will have clinical, educational, documentation, and treatment related activities while working within the scope of responsibilities/ plan of care assigned by the Speech Language Pathologist and/or physician.
        Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
        • Provides components of a speech and language program as specified in the treatment plan developed by a supervising SLP in accordance with the physician’s plan of care according to state regulations
        • Self-identifies as SLPA to families, students, patients, clients, staff and others
        • Assists the SLP with speech, language, and hearing screenings without clinical interpretation
        • Assists the SLP during assessment of students, clients, and patients exclusive of administration and/or interpretation
        • Assists the SLP with bilingual translation during screening and assessment activities exclusive of interpretation
        • Provides timely and accurate documentation of student, client and patient performance and reports this information to the supervising SLP
