Candidate will need to demonstrate high professional standards with honesty and integrity while assisting the department manager/s and supervisor/s to enhance the technical as well as the financial performance of the production department operations.

Key Responsibilities For This Position Include

• Apply safety rules and ensure they are implemented and followed, as well as being observant of potential risk to occupational hazards.
• Lead confidently by delegating, instilling a sense of responsibility, set targets, communicate instructions, and listen.
• Responsible for leading Production Operators, Machine Operators, and Cheesemakers.
• Comply with all Lactalis Policies and Procedures along with upholding all rules pertaining to confidentiality of information regarding Lactalis products, recipes and employee information
• Work closely with Quality to ensure the quality and specifications of product are continually being met.
• Assist the team to meet required production in terms of quantity, cost, deadlines, and quality to ensure a secure manufacturing environment.
• Ensure all food safety laws, rules and regulations are followed per Good Manufacturing Practices and FSSC22000 system and take necessary measures if there is deviation from this policy.
• Support and organize the work of the production team on designated shift.
• Gauge training needs and participate in proposing training timelines.
• Think innovatively to propose technical and organization improvements to line management.
• Record and analyze production data with the ability to determine negative or positive net effect and implement corrective action plans if needed.

Requirements

Education:

• High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) is preferred

Qualifications

• Must possess a Wisconsin Cheesemaker’s License or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.

Experience

• 2 years’ experience in dairy production and/or food industry preferred.
• Production management, collective line management, non-line management, environmental safety management, and office/computer systems

Knowledge Of

• Knowledge of production equipment, processes, quality, food safety, and health and safety.
