Job Description
THOR Solutions is actively seeking a 3D Content Creator to support the Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) group from Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) in Panama City, FL. The Creator should possess experience working in 3D modeling and 2D computer-aided drafting (CAD) in a professional environment using SOLIDWORKS or other 3D modeling software. This individual will assist in the development of digital training media for Air Cushion Vehicles (ACVs).
Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:
  • Develop detailed technical documentation including 2D Technical Drawings.
  • Work in 3D modeling and 2D computer-aided drafting (CAD) in a professional environment using SOLIDWORKS or other 3D modeling software.
  • Collaborate with an integrated product team, including a variety of technical and non-technical teammates.
  • Use 3D modeling techniques and best practices to assist with interactive video development.
  • Develop interactive 3D Animation/Video for training.
Location: Hybrid. Mix of onsite at local THOR office (Panama City, FL), onsite at NSWC PCD (Panama City, FL), and telework, as required by job duties.
Existing Secret Security Clearance Required: This position requires a DoD Secret security clearance. Only candidates with existing full or interim Secret security clearances will be considered.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Associate’s degree in 3D content creation, or a related discipline.
  • Bachelor’s degree in 3D content creation, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • ASME GD&T certification preferred.
  • Knowledge and use with SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD
  • Experience with SOLIDWORKS Composer.
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14 standards.
  • Experience performing Configuration Management with SOLIDWORKS PDM administration.
  • Experience with Ready Relevant Learning Development.
  • At least three (3) years of recent, relevant professional experience with hardware design, development, model based definition (MBD), prototyping, and integration of electromechanical prototype or military systems.
