En t r y Level Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Looking for a position that demonstrates your high level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult? As a Quality Engineer at GM you would drive problem solving and resolutions based on data driven solutions for suppliers and internal customers. Your work would involve functioning as a technic al liaison between production operations, engineering, suppliers, and supplier quality .

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure effec tive containment and resolution to identified non-conforming product s
  • Support launch activities of new products
  • Support the implementation and effective adherence to all elements within Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS)
  • Validate supplier scrap
  • Work with Supplier Practical Problem Solving (SPPS) proce ss on supplier related issue s
  • Interact with production and engineering on part measurement results to part print specifications to assure quality and reliability
  • Communicate emerging issues for responsible components daily to Quality Systems Manager (QSM)
  • Coordinate repair s , rework, and containment activities for identified spills
  • Support the Problem Tracking Report (PTR) Process by running PTR 's and evaluating impact on the product / function

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduated between December 2023 and Spring of 2024
  • Able to work full time, 40 hours per week
  • Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Engineering
  • Willing to work in a plant environment

  • Prior internship experience in automotive or technology
  • Understanding of supplier quality standards
  • Eme rging partnership and collaboration skills and ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a fast-paced environment
  • Evidence of strong character with integrity, honesty, accountability and trust
  • Knowledge of and ability to effectively use computer software as it pertains to quality engineering
  • Proficient in reading part drawings and interpretation of part measurements
  • High level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, takes initiative and is proactive

Relocation assistance is available to candi dates who meet eligibility requirements.

Pay Transparency:

  • The salary range for this role is $82,500 and $95,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level and individual performance.

This role requires you to possess good physical stamina and coordination.

Specific physical requirements of the position include the ability to:

  • Frequently and repetitively bend, twist, kneel, crouch and reach to perform work.
  • Wear personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, and safety shoes.
  • Occasionally sit, climb (including ladders and lifts) and drive vehicles and equipment.
  • Lift or carry materials weighing up to 15 pounds and periodically carry or lift materials weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Promptly detect and respond to safety instructions, alarms, and signals.
  • Work in a loud manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled (conditions can be hot or cold).
  • Walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Read standardized work instructions, operate machines and tools, and perform quality inspections.
