Tourism Assistant Jobs

At least 5 years of writing experience in a news organization.

Strong writing and reporting skills and excellent news judgment

A demonstrated ability to learn new skills and technologies, including emerging storytelling tools and platforms.

Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy and the ability to take and give constructive criticism.

Unwavering commitment to accurate, ethical journalism

Demonstrated ability to use social media platforms and digital tools to find story ideas and reach audiences.

Two (2) years of supervisory/management responsibilities. (This experience may be included in the required experience listed above.)

Five (5) years of experience in any of the follow:

Bachelor's degree in a business, public administration, or social science field.

Valid driver’s license with good driving record

You have relevant work experience in the travel industry or a passion for the travel industry

You possess great people skills

You demonstrate excellent sales and interpersonal skills.

Manage large-scale events including conferences and retreats.

You’re at least 18 years of age.

You have a computer and reliable internet

Basic math and computer skills

Knowledge of Virginia’s travel product, roads and highway systems preferred

Ability to work independently in a heavy volume customer service environment

Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, including extensive walking and standing

Ability to interact with the public

Holiday and weekend work is required
