Student Mental Health And Wellness Counselor Jobs

Complies with all Yale IICAPS’ requirements for model fidelity.

Offers therapeutic support and parent guidance to children and their families in a variety of settings (home, community, school, clinic).

Manages ongoing insurance authorizations for cases.

Is expected to be involved in special projects, such as consultation, prevention programs and community education.

Is responsible to the IICAPS Director and any other supervisor the Director assigns.

Collaborates with the IICAPS Clinician in assessment and treatment planning. for children, parents and families,

Engages in professional development activities to maintain licensure/certification and qualification to supervise doctoral/masters level trainees.

Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with state/federal laws, professional ethics code and CAPS policies.

Support the University’s CARE team (Behavioral Assessment Team) by conducting risk assessments on students of concerns as needed.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Assists with community outreach activities, i.e., professional counseling, lectures, in-service training and preventive education programs.

Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.

Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.

Provides immediate response and crisis treatment to crisis victims, their families and departments requesting assistance.

Completes clinical documentation of the patients' assessment and services in the proper hospital record, and maintains files on all crisis patients.
