Sports Massage Therapists are responsible for providing massage therapy to athletes and active individuals in order to improve their performance, reduce the risk of injury, and promote overall health and wellness. They must be knowledgeable in anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology, and be able to assess and treat musculoskeletal injuries. Sports Massage Therapists must be able to identify and treat areas of tension and tightness, and be able to provide advice on stretching and strengthening exercises. They must also be able to provide advice on nutrition, hydration, and other lifestyle factors that can affect performance.
