Sonographer Vascular Registered Jobs

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of Sonography.

Experience: Experienced in performing vascular and arterial ultrasound

Certifications: CPR required RVT required for Vascular Sonographer II

Preferred Certifications: Registered RVT is preferred.

Stocks exam rooms with medical/surgical supplies, gowns, linens etc. Inspects all equipment and notifies manager of malfunctions.

May give manager input for policy development and updates.

Updates manager regarding equipment operating condition, wear and tear and provides recommendations for capital purchases as needed.

1 year experience as a RVT or, RVS or, RCS

2 years of experience as a registered nurse providing specialized care for patients in an acute care setting.

Demonstrated advance knowledge and competence with regard to area of specialty, nursing theories, concepts and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology.

Advanced knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations.

Possess written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.

Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record.

Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent Work Experience: 2-4 years

Licensure, Certification, Or Registration Requirements

Minimum two years of experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

2-4 years of experience in Vascular Sonography desired

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA)

RVT (ARDMS), RVS (CCI), or RT(VS) (ARRT)

Preferred – Completion of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited ultrasonography training program.

Preferred – Two (2) years of echocardiography experience

Specializes in performing cardiac ultrasound diagnostic studies.

Operates and maintains all assigned ultrasound scanning equipment to ensure it works properly.

Positions patients, selects appropriate transducers and machine settings and conducts scanning procedures to correctly capture the images requested by a physician.

Completes quality assurance processes and practices. Complies with all Joint Commission, federal, state, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.

High school diploma or GED.
