Solid knowledge and understanding of reproductive rights and maternal health

Experience or familiarity reporting on the US legal system

Minimum five years experience in digital reporting for a prominent newspaper or website

Success at covering breaking news as well as crafting longform stories and narratives

At least one year of relevant research experience, using hands-on molecular biology skill sets, including:

Track record of challenging oneself to enhance scientific skills and knowledge

Experience preparing gene libraries for NGS and lab automation for NGS library prep

Experience in trouble-shooting NGS library prep and data

Experience performing 96-well plate-format assays

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Preferred: Electronic Practice Management system or Electronic Health Records system experience (EPM/EHR)

May train less experienced Heath Center team members in job functions/duties/protocols

BA or BS in public health, communication, or another related field

Post-award grant management, contract budgets, narratives, and workplans & maintain effective working relationships with a variety of agencies and programs

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing, writing, and editing complex documents such as data dictionaries, codebooks,

Experience managing and analyzing quantitative data with programs such as SAS, SUDAAN or STATA

Python, SQL, Power BI experience is preferred

Survey research and design experience is useful

Responsible for developing policy and objectives, appraising programs, and initiating requirements for health science studies
