Overview Patient Service Technicians are responsible for providing patient care and support services in a medical setting. They are responsible for ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care and that their needs are met in a timely and efficient manner. They may work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and medical offices. Detailed Job Description Patient Service Technicians are responsible for providing patient care and support services in a medical setting. They are responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, taking vital signs, collecting patient information, and providing patient education. They may also be responsible for administering medications, performing laboratory tests, and assisting with medical procedures. They must be able to maintain accurate patient records and ensure that all patient information is kept confidential. Job Skills Required Patient Service Technicians must have excellent customer service and communication skills. They must be able to work independently and as part of a team. They must be able to multitask and prioritize tasks. They must be able to maintain accurate patient records and ensure that all patient information is kept confidential. They must also be able to use medical equipment and understand medical terminology. Job Qualifications Patient Service Technicians must have a high school diploma or equivalent. They must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a background check. They must have basic computer skills and be able to use medical software. They must also have CPR certification and be able to pass a drug test. Job Knowledge Patient Service Technicians must have a basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures. They must be able to understand and follow instructions. They must be able to recognize signs and symptoms of medical conditions and be able to provide appropriate care. They must also be able to recognize and respond to emergency situations. Job Experience Patient Service Technicians must have at least one year of experience in a medical setting. They must have experience working with patients and providing patient care. They must also have experience using medical equipment and software.
