Operations Network Engineer Jobs

Creates and updates documentation needed to configure, operate, and recover monitoring tools and capabilities, Common Operating Procedures (COP), and other processes

Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools such as Solar Winds

Demonstrated experience with applying analytical skills to problem solve issues autonomously and collaboratively with external and internal partners

Adhere to strict deadlines and manage projects, including the installation and decommission of hardware.

A networking degree or relevant work experience as a Network Operations Engineer / Network Engineer.

Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a professional demeanor when handling complex network issues

Practical experience with network protocols, e.g., MPLS, BGP, OSPF, STP, LACP, etc., and hands-on network troubleshooting experience of critical issues

Advanced networking certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, CCIE, etc.)

Experience working in a network team or network operations centre, providing first line support and general network monitoring and management

A CCNA qualification to demonstrate knowledge of basic switching and routing concepts, and familiarity with configuring and operating switches and routers

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

Experience with project work, such as hardware refresh or installation of approved designs

Network automation and scripting skills at a basic level; the team uses Ansible extensively

Monitoring the health of the network and security infrastructure using a variety of monitoring and analysis tools

Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance current customer capabilities.

Ensure efficient delivery of contract capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes.

Mitigate risks, control costs and schedule variance, and effectively manages large scale, integrated projects.

Currently possess DoD 8750 certification at IAT level II, Security+ CE or CCNA Security.

Experience analyzing VLAN, routing, IP addressing and sub-netting.

Experience troubleshooting and configuring IP networks using at least one of the following routing methods: BGP, ISIS or OSPF, Static routing.

Log all incidents and service requests in the Service Management system

Create and use Knowledgebase to investigate, diagnose and resolve incidents

Less than 1 years of related experience

Knowledge of computer hardware and software technology, including networking concepts

Strong customer service skills and service orientation

Learn and implement approved IT policies, processes, and procedures

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Train junior IT staff and provide on-site field technicians with remote technical support.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information science, or specialization in network engineering. Experience in lieu of a degree will be accepted.

Prior experience/familiarity with Cisco or Aruba command line interface (configs).

A minimum of two years' experience as a NOC technician, Sys-Admin, or similar.

Knowledge of network technologies, connectivity, protocols, and security.

Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.

Three or more years or relevant work experience.

Experience in routers, switches, Firewalls, load balancers and connection correlation from end-to-end.

Experience in Cisco, Juniper, and F5 devices.

Knowledge of IP telecommunication equipment, technologies, processes and systems as well as department of company policies and procedures.

Knowledge of routing protocols (MPLS, LDP, BGP, IS-IS, OSPF) and knowledge of concepts associated to cloud computing and virtualization (SDN/NFV).

Knowledge of LAN / WAN technologies/platforms - - routers / switches / analyzers / routing protocols / network management

Use hardware and software knowledge to ensure solutions integrate well into existing environment

Use project-planning skills to complete assigned tasks on time and on budget

Consult with internal and external clients to determine requirements for successful project deliverables

Experience in supporting network devices

Knowledge of TCP/IP and related protocols

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

Increasingly responsible experience with technical skills in a large, complex corporate Information System

Working knowledge of mainframe, minicomputer, microcomputer, networking and telecommunications strategies, environments, equipment, operating systems, development tools and methodologies

Provides technical education classes for Operations and Applications staff.

Minimum of one (1) year working in IT customer service setting, preferably in healthcare

Ability to handle high stress situations

A minimum of 2-5 years of hands-on experience in technical infrastructure analysis and network support.

Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Proficient in providing technical supervision, offering high-level support across multiple locations, and adapting to flexible work hours.

Execute and monitor distributed network infrastructure upgrade processes to ensure seamless transitions and enhanced network performance.

Monitor and respond to incidents during the network infrastructure upgrades, promptly addressing any issues that arise.

Log and report support activities related to the distributed network infrastructure, maintaining accurate documentation.

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.

Experience with optical network installation, maintenance, and operations for a network service provider or enterprise networks.

Experience with TCP/IP network routing protocols and infrastructure.

Experience with Unix/Linux administration and scripting/coding.

Knowledge of transport networks, optical line systems and optical fibers.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to embrace change.

Continuous improvement of OT Cybersecurity (Vulnerability mitigation, threat detection, access management).

Management of vendor access in PLC and Scada applications and equipment.

Active Directory, Authentication, SSO & Identity Management

Ensure security guidelines are adhered to and maintained with remote vendor access and across the IT and OT Network environment.
