Maintains an excellent understanding of managed care plans and protocols for referrals, co-payments, and pre-certification.

Ensures optimal patient experience through coordination and communication.

Communicates issues effecting flow with managers and providers as necessary. Keeps manager aware of potential issues or problems as they arise.

Bachelor's Degree preferred and Two years of experience in a medical office setting or Customer Service experience.

Act as point of contact for all new patients for department.

Serve as specialty expert of nuances of care coordination so that patients are seen by the appropriate physician and specialty.

Participate in continuing education activities to enhance knowledge, skills, and maintain current credentials.

Maintain current working knowledge of ICD-10 and/or CPT/HCPCS and coding guidelines, government regulations, protocols and third-party requirements regarding coding and/or billing.

Associates degree in HIM or healthcare-related field, or combination of equivalent education and experience

Candidates must successfully pass pre-employment skills assessment. Required:

Two years of recent and relevant hands-on coding experience

Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, as well as ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS code sets

Education: Bachelor's degree or 4+ years in a lead or supervisory role in a clinical setting.

Experience: Minimum of one year lead or supervisor experience, plus 4 years experience in a clinical setting
