NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
What Your Job Will Be Like
We are seeking an Office Management Assistant (OMA) to provide administrative support for two W80-4 organizations. Our Office Management Assistants are the face of their departments and maintain a professional demeanor in a dynamic and busy environment. You will work independently and as part of a team, exercising initiative and managing multiple issues simultaneously, while handling constantly changing priorities.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Assist with new hire onboarding including setting up new offices and assisting with office moves
- Maintain multiple calendars, answer phone calls, coordinate travel, submit travel expense reports, coordinate timely submittal of timecards, and arrange meetings which include teleconferencing and videoconferencing
- Work with the 8200 Admin team on center level projects and provide backup to other assistants as needed on a temporary basis to ensure 8200 has full coverage, or external to 8200 as required
- Coordinate candidate interview schedules and travel
- Provide administrative support to managers and staff
- Perform Classified administrative specialist (CAS) duties (training provided)
- Order office supplies and other purchases as needed, collect and distribute departmental mail, assist with property and training coordination, and serve as the information source on organizational policies and procedures

Qualifications We Require
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web-based applications (such as SharePoint, Adobe)
- High school diploma plus three or more years of directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance

About Our Team
The W80-4 Life Extension Program (LEP) is intended to strengthen our nation’s strategic deterrence, by modernizing the W80 warhead and integrating it with the Long-Range Standoff (LRSO) missile. The program’s scope includes design and qualification of the warhead and integration of non-nuclear and nuclear components within the warhead. Additionally, we are responsible for developing the Joint Test Assembly for surveillance along with trainer hardware, handling gear, and other ancillary equipment. It is the first modernization program to be conducted in parallel with a missile development program. The team is also implementing a nuclear enterprise assurance (NEA) program and implementing comprehensive earned value management (EVM).

Security Clearance
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
