Primary Function of Position:


The ideal candidate is well-versed in DITA, content and translations management technologies and possesses in-depth knowledge in desktop and server software applications. The Administrator has experiences installing new software releases, system upgrades, evaluating and installing patches, and resolving software related issues. Experience with translation is highly preferred.


Roles & Responsibilities:

The responsibilities and duties of this role include, but not limited to the following:

  • Follow technology trends and evaluates tooling needs and recommends potential solutions
  • Develop and maintain usage scenarios; monitors and modifies usage scenarios when necessary
  • Identify and work on continuous improvement of the systems or applications through installations, upgrades, configuration changes and error management
  • Manage the translation tasks including creating and downloading translation packages from the applicable system
  • Integrate content development with existing technologies and adapt processes to align with them
  • Maintain vendor relationships and escalate issues to vendors when necessary
  • Develop, conduct, and maintain training for cCMS users such as writers, reviewers, and localization specialists
  • Participate in selection, implementation, and maintenance of the cCMS and TMS related tools
  • Manage user and group maintenance, adding, removing, and activating users for test and production document bases
  • Troubleshoot cCMS issues and provide technical support for the writers
  • Solicit feedback from the writing team regularly on problems, design, workflow, and communicates process or tool changes
  • Support content developers and DITA team members by troubleshooting and resolving issues identified in authoring tools and the cCMS

Qualifications

Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

  • Extensive experience with one or more of the following technologies: Arbortext Editor, XMetal, Oxygen XML Editor, or easyDITA
  • Familiarity with localization tools and processes preferred
  • Highly organized and ability to prioritize required
  • Excellent collaborative problem solving skills
  • Experience with medical devices and FDA regulated environment preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in writing scripts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across global and culturally diverse teams required
  • Experience in communicating technical information to writers including tool training, mentoring, or best practices.
  • Experience in DITA customization including implementing constraints and customizations
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments concurrently while maintaining high levels of quality and effectiveness
  • Minimum 5+ years working with documentation and publishing tools
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in information sciences or related field
  • Ability to work well independently and with team required
  • Proven experience supporting an XML authoring environment and a DITA CMS
  • Solid understanding of DITA semantics, taxonomy, and search technologies

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed below:

Base Salary Range Region 1:$137,200 - $197,400
Base Salary Range Region 2: $116,600 - $167,800
Shift: Day
Travel: 10% of the time
