FBR is seeking an innovative and purpose driven individual to join our team as a Community Support Specialist in Allegheny County.

ABOUT YOUR ROLE:
This position is responsible for working with both children and adults on acquiring, developing, and increasing social engagement and independent living skills, and increased interaction in the community and home settings. This position works to reduce problem behaviors that impede functioning.
POSITION DETAILS:
Part Time Variable position; Not benefits eligible
DO YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS?
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must complete all required trainings developed by the Bureau of Autism Services for individuals with an autism spectrum disorder (AAW); must complete all required trainings developed by the Intellectual Disabilities Department, specifically pre/in-service training based on consumer’s Individual Support Plan (IDD)
Preferred Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling, Criminology, Education, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or other related field is preferred
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for the purpose of transporting consumers (AERI programs only)
  • Must possess proof of automobile insurance
  • Organization and attention to detail
  • Must be able to make sound decisions to support consumers in a calm and timely manner; must be able to utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities based upon consumer needs, and react quickly to prevent consumer injury or injury to another due to consumer behavior
  • Must be proficient in use of electronic health record system
  • Language, mathematical, and reasoning ability skills
SIGN ON BONUS PAID AS FOLLOWS:$750 after 90 days | $750 after 180 days.

We also provide Outpatient Mental Health Therapy and Intensive Behavioral Health Services in numerous locations throughout the state of PA.
