Summary
Responsible for properly performing financial activities related to the Accounting activities of the Finance Department, in accordance with established policies, procedures and controls.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Looks for ways to improve the efficiency of their work through process or system improvements
- Communicate with the Financial Controller and department heads regarding accounting and internal control issues
- Assist outside auditors when necessary
- Reviews and verifies accuracy of financial data
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Preparejournal entries and maintain adaquate audit trails.
- Receive checks and payments for deposit
- Provides training or ad-hoc assistance to staff accountants
- Treats clients and fellow associates with courtesy and consideration at all times within public areas or staff support sections of the property
- Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts in a timely, effective manner
- Prepare special financial reports as needed
Qualifications
- Works with a high degree of independence in performing accounting and financial activities
- Ability to work with other department personnel, co-workers and management
- Verify right to work in the United States
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Possesses a thorough knowledge of GAAP, standard office practices and procedures, and computer applications as related to the hospitality industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related area from a four-year college or university; or four years related experience and/or training in General Ledger accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
- At least 21 years of age
- Pleasant personality, team oriented and enjoys working with and assisting people
- Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Degree in Accounting or some formal accounting education preferred
- Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations
- Gaming
- Constant use of hearing and vision, distinguish between shades of color, and use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
- Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 lbs. at floor, knee, waist, and/or chest levels
- Frequently bend, reach, twist, squat, kneel, sit, stand, and walk
