Description:

Responsible for assessing and treating patients referred for speech-language, hearing and swallowing disorders, in effective and professional manner, while adhering to Maryland State laws and American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Health.
  • Responsible for assessing and treating patients referred for speech-language, hearing and swallowing disorders, in effective and professional manner, while adhering to Maryland State laws and American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Code of Ethics.
  • Additional training may be required to work with special programs and procedures, or specified groups of patients, as determined by department guidelines and best practice.
  • Provides assessment and care for patients of all ages from neonate through geriatric.
  • Collaborates with physicians, medical professionals, staff, and families, to ensure quality of care.

What you will need:

Required:

  • Current Maryland license verified by the Maryland Board of Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers & Speech-Language Pathologists.
  • Graduate of an accredited school with Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Must be able to evaluate and treat patients in any hospital unit within professional scope of practice
  • Current BLS (issued through the American Heart Association)
  • Two (2) years of experience in acute care or rehabilitation setting, with emphasis on adult neurogenic disorders, dysphagia, and communication cognitive impairments.
  • Must be willing and able to become proficient on basic computer systems utilized for documentation, scheduling and charging.
  • Reads, writes, speaks, and comprehends the English language
  • Ust be able to work weekends and holidays.
