About WorkMoney
WorkMoney is dedicated to lowering costs and raising incomes for all Americans to make American life more affordable and American families more economically secure. We provide products, services, perks, benefits, tips, and tools to help members improve their financial lives, and we have become a trusted source of information about financial matters, economic policy, and public debates about the economy for our 4 million (and growing) members. We are in the midst of a growth period as an organization and as a brand. In 2023, we will be increasing our presence and investment across a broader range of paid, owned, earned and shared channels which will enable us to advance our core vision that everyone in America can afford to live a good life. You can find out more about WorkMoney at workmoney.org and Facebook.
Why We’re Hiring A Social Media Manager
We’ve shown an impressive ability to connect with everyday Americans on issues that can impact their lives and how their choices can result in getting more money in their pockets. We’ve done that mostly over SMS. And, we know that we have a big opportunity to more effectively connect with the public and our members. We are seeking a great communicator and content manager who cares about our audience and what makes them tick, and to take our social media program to a whole new level of performance and brand expression.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
As a Social Media Manager at WorkMoney, you'll have a fantastic chance to wear many hats and experiment with different approaches as you (and the rest of our staff and freelancers) create more original content (Videos! Stories! Memes! Infographics!) than ever before. This content will share our point of view on political policy along with ways to save money, and celebrate the value of hard work in America. You'll help us understand our audience better and create clear, relatable content for them. You’ll offer our members real solutions for problems they’re facing, share genuinely useful financial info, demonstrate how hard work can lead to success, and inspire everyone with examples of the good life we can all achieve if we put in the effort and join forces as Americans. This means taking control of our social media calendar across all platforms and driving organic growth on each. You’ll also handle the reporting process so that you and the team have the necessary insights to run a great social media program. You’ll work closely with the Sr. Director of Digital Engagement in addition to coordinating with our policy & advocacy team, product team, and other stakeholders across the organization.
If you're eager to try new things and make a real impact on people's lives, this is the perfect opportunity for you. To get a little more specific, in this role you would:
  • Stay up-to-date on social media trends and best practices, and incorporate new strategies and techniques into our social media marketing efforts.
  • Manage and execute social media campaigns across multiple channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  • Work closely with the design team to develop visually compelling graphics and other assets that enhance our social media content.
  • Bring on new freelance capacity and increase the speed at which we can get new content out the door.
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize campaigns for engagement and conversion rates, and conduct ongoing analysis of performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop video content that appeals to everyday people across the country, and have a deep understanding of video production.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively with other team members to ensure timely and accurate execution of all social media initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with the broader marketing team to develop creative concepts and messaging that resonates with different audiences.
Requirements
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
We are looking for a results-driven, creative, and collaborative marketer who is passionate about content strategy, storytelling, and customer-centricity.
Must Haves:
  • Must have fluency in social media scheduling and reporting tools such as Sprout, Brandwatch, or Meltwater.
  • Experience in evaluating influencers for relevant leverage and impact.
  • A data-driven approach to social media marketing, with experience in analytics and reporting.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in social media management, with a proven track record of success.
  • Experience with video production and editing, and an interest in deepening their skills in this area.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other team members and across functions to achieve shared goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a deep understanding of different audience types and how to engage with them effectively.
  • Experience managing, creating, and executing social media campaigns across multiple channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and keep stakeholders (and freelancers) on task.
Nice to Haves
  • Experience with paid social media advertising
  • Experience (or interest) in being public facing talent on original video content
  • Experience with content marketing around personal finance
  • Experience with video scriptwriting, production, and/or editing
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or other design tools
Benefits
We’re proud to offer generous benefits like competitive pay, expansive paid time off options, and employer contributions to retirement and student loan repayment. WorkMoney covers the premiums for healthcare, dental, and vision plans so you don’t have to, offers a 6% 401K employer match, four weeks paid vacation, generous paid family and medical leave, and annual allowances for remote work and professional development.
The salary for this role is $90,000 annually and as part of our commitment to pay transparency and equity in our organization, the salary for this position is not negotiable.
Why Join Our Team?
Our workplace is dynamic and we aren’t afraid to pivot when things don’t work. We’re mission driven, hard working, and scrappy AF. We have a good time working on hard things, and embrace the line ‘feedback is a gift’. We jump in to help each other, and make time to reflect when things go well and not so well. The truth of the matter is: we’re doing meaningful work with really cool people and having a great time doing it.
While this is a fully remote workplace, domestic travel is required for full team annual retreats and intermittent team working sessions and retreats.
WorkMoney is an equal opportunity employer. WorkMoney prohibits unlawful discrimination against any employee or applicant for employment based on age, color, disability, gender, marital status, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, expression, gender identity, veteran’s status, or any other basis prohibited by law. We see diversity of all kinds as a necessary precondition to doing our work well and strive to build a team that reflects the diverse composition of America itself. We strongly encourage applicants from historically under-represented communities to apply.
