Opportunity Overview:

In this position, the ICS Senior System Administrator can expect to setup, configure, and maintain both our internal develop and test systems as well as customer systems being assembled at our facilities. The individual in this position will support several groups within the Control and Information Systems Engineering department that develop industrial control systems, plant computers and training simulators for nuclear power plants. The ideal candidate should have an appreciation for cyber security best practices and broad capabilities in general information technology and networking. This is a mid-level position but offers significant growth potential in a variety of different career paths including cyber security, IT, and industrial control systems.

An ideal candidate for this position would be extremely organized and detailed oriented with a proven ability to balance competing priorities. The candidate will provide both routine and emergent support to multiple projects as it relates to their systems. Candidates in this position will be responsible for loading, configuring, and troubleshooting a variety of platforms used to support industrial control systems. Support extracting data for preparing software releases is also likely to be required.

What your day-to-day looks like:

  • Respond to service requests for adding/removing users and updating permissions
  • Troubleshoot both software configuration and hardware system issues
  • Ensure systems remain in compliance with relevant policies and procedures, including maintaining the systems security posture
  • Export software and configuration items developed for the project and provide the appropriate documentation and archival of those items.
  • Perform system administration, network configuration, and virtual environment management
  • Maintain asset lists and system configuration related information including software and hardware details
  • Configure both internal systems and customer deliverable systems
  • Perform system administration, network configuration, and virtual environment management (Windows Server and client system administration setup and support expertise, Cisco device support, Palo Alto support, McAfee ePO and VMware ESXi management)
  • Load newly released software and related patches onto development and test systems
  • Author technical documentation including product configuration/implementation guides, requirements traceability, test plans, test procedures, test reports, and user administration guides
  • Network security administration including network firewalls, data diodes, security information & event management, network intrusion detection, deep packet capture / inspection
  • Participate in control systems master planning efforts focused on Ovation control system security including application of host-based security products from a centralized server and secure (hardened) configuration of system components
  • Perform preventative maintenance to support proper system operation
  • Participate in information sharing with internal and external customers including the delivery of presentation material, technical training, and knowledge transfer
  • Troubleshoot and correct issues identified by end users
***Up to 25% travel could occur in support of customer systems.

What we’d like to see from you:

Education:

  • Technical Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Computer) or Computer Science, Information Sciences and Technology, Cyber Security or similar/related.

Experience/Requirements:

  • Experience in industrial environments or industrial control systems a plus.
  • Experience with common PLC, Scada, DCS platforms (i.e. Emerson Ovation);
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and techniques;
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience (engineering, administration, and security of IT/OT);
  • Experience troubleshooting system integration issues, and working with cyber security, network, and virtualization technologies is preferred.
  • Experience performing requirements management or security audit/assessments;
  • Ability to be granted 10 CFR 73.56 Trustworthy and Reliable clearance;
  • Experience working in an industrial Operational Technology Environment;
  • Knowledge in areas such as network design, Windows Domain setup expertise, security and group policy setup;
