Job Description

Counterpointe Sustainable Advisors is seeking a Senior Sustainability Engineer / Consultant to join its dynamic team in Greenwich, CT.

Counterpointe Sustainable Advisors finances a wide array of sustainability projects via CounterpointeSRE’s national platform through commercial PACE, green mortgages and other sustainable Behind the Meter financing products (PPA/ESA) across a variety of property types (multifamily, industrial, hotel, office, retail, and specialty).

Your Qualifications and Experience:

  • ·Building or engineering experience, including identification, analysis and selection of appropriate integrated strategies for sustainability and resiliency;
  • Outstanding leadership skills to build-out engineering team and strong communication skills through writing and presenting
  • ·Relevant energy experience as professional engineer PE, architect or certification BEAP, BEMP, AEE, CEM, CEA, or ICP.
  • ·Have 6 or more years of relevant work experience with a strong track record
  • ·Feasibility analysis with cost & benefit analysis over a project life cycle to support decision-making
  • Strong understanding of energy, water, and resource technologies
  • ·Review of building and water engineering with assessment and modeling of energy and water savings potential;

Strong candidates will also be able to demonstrate experience in:

  • Experience with construction lending, tax equity, PPAs, ESAs, and construction lending risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of policy and economic issues related to energy and climate change
  • Familiarity with climate change related policy, ESG frameworks, planning and reporting
  • ·Knowledge of sustainability codes and standards development and implementation
  • Sustainability assessment of projects in the built environment using EnergyStar, ICP, LEED, BREEAM, Green Globes, Passive House and/or other GBCI rating systems.
  • ·The evaluation of renewable solar or wind energy options including community or campus energy systems distributed or centralized including district energy system and microgrids;

You will work on projects which focus on the investment and development of climate impact mitigation and resilience strategies Your experience and capability will determine the breadth of your responsibility with the combination of interpersonal and analytical skills that will make you a leader on our team.

Specifically, you will contribute to and oversee several concurrent investments pertaining to:

·review of design and assessment of new and existing buildings;

·analysis of energy and resource flows;

·eligible project viability for various municipal based programs,

·GHG emission analysis; coordination of sustainability assessments and benchmarking of projects.

·contribute to the financing of energy systems, source energy & efficiency ideas,

·identify and analyze alternatives, quantify sustainability impacts using life-cycle analysis and other metrics

·help develop spreadsheet or coding-based analyses,

·prepare written summaries of work for clients,

·present on process and findings to technical and non-technical audiences,

·attend client meetings, and

·assist with or lead proposals.



The role seeks an individual with a strong combination of technical, strategic, and management thinking as well as effective communication skills across mediums. You will also work with our research group as part of our ESG committee and assist in management of the Counterpointe Green Investment Framework. The role will challenge you to work across interdisciplinary investment teams with a wide range of stakeholders including government, CRE investors, energy project developers, manufacturers, as well as the construction industry.
