Senior Program Managers are responsible for developing and overseeing the project portfolio for a full product line within the Bobcat product portfolio. Projects within these portfolios ranges from introducing new features or business models to developing an entirely new platform of products. This position is often responsible for one of Bobcat’s core products, which carries additional responsibility to the overall business.


The Senior Program Manager position is a leadership position within Bobcat Company offering the chance to influence many aspects of the business. This position will be expected to work seamlessly between executives and project teams.


Senior Program Managers are expected to provide direction for their product lines, but also develop and introduce new methods, tools, and process improvements that benefit the full team. These individuals should drive improvements that benefit a large group of projects and teams, reaching well beyond their individual responsibilities.


Role & Responsibility


  • Developing people will be a focus area for this role. Senior Program Managers will often lead multiple project teams
  • This position is responsible for reporting at the project and the portfolio level. Portfolio reports are generally focused on all projects related to a specific product line. Reports should be aimed at all areas of the organization from the executive level to the team level. Understanding how to communicate clearly and concisely to a broad audience is required for this position
  • Expect 10-30% travel depending on individual project requirements. Travel includes international travel to global offices overseas but is often focused on daily travel to manufacturing locations within North Dakota. Program Managers are expected to work globally and align with key stakeholders for all project and process work
  • Senior Program Managers are expected to develop these individuals to further their tactical project management skills as well as their soft interpersonal skills
  • These individuals will be required to utilize project management principles consistent with industry best practices while staying consistent with Bobcat processes. Project scope definition, resource management, risk management, etc. should all be executed in a way that stays consistent with our processes and executes project work at a high level
  • This position is responsible for leading and developing other Project Managers and Program Managers as direct-reports
  • Senior Program Managers are expected to develop the processes used to manage projects and programs in a way that improves execution, but also encourages adoption within the organization. These individuals are expected to work beyond their own projects and develop our processes to benefit the full project portfolio


Job Requirement


  • Experience Required: 7-10 years of project management experience | 3-5 years’ experience managing people as direct reports is required
  • Applicants must possess strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate project teams along with the ability to hold teams accountable to project objectives and commitments made throughout the NPD process
  • Applicants should have a strong understanding of financial principles and how they would apply to a development project.
  • Applicants must be able to manage a comprehensive project plan considering Critical Path methodology while understanding cause and effect throughout the schedule
  • Experience in both traditional waterfall processes as well as Agile methods is preferred
  • Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field
  • Applicants must be proficient in the Microsoft Suite of applications including MS Project or a comparable project scheduling tool
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred but not required. Individuals will be expected to pursue this certification once hired
