Job Description

The School Culture and Climate Coordinator will report to the CAO and exemplify CASLV Charter School's core values: The Coordinator of School Culture will oversee all disciplinary issues and ensure all students, faculty, staff, and parents are provided with the necessary support on a safe and secure campus.


Serves as a member of the administration team to oversee the daily functions of the school site. As a member of the administration team, the site administration supports the following:

  • Supports the implementation of the School Safety Plan.
  • Manages the implementation of school policies and procedures.
  • Addresses parent and student concerns.
  • Creates and supports a data-driven culture.
  • Member of the Multi-Tiered System of Support Team and oversee the implementation.
  • Communicates with school stakeholders.
  • Conducts student supervision and discipline.
  • Provides teacher and staff coaching and support.

Responsible for implementation of charter school policies, employee and student parent handbook


SCHOOL SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates and documents emergency preparedness activities and training.
  • Develops and schedules drug and alcohol intervention assemblies and provides presentations, trainings, and strategies for students and parents.
  • Manages and provides supervision for student and parent events.
  • Creates and manages a school supervision plan for the school.
  • Provides training on school wide expectations and classroom management for after school and daytime tutors with the Coordinator of Instruction.
  • Provides professional development on School Safety Plan and staff responsibilities.


SCHOOL CULTURE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops student programming to promote positive behavior intervention and support.
  • Manages student events calendar on google calendar.
  • Provides support for the leadership advisor with student events and activities.
  • Supports with planning and implementation of quarterly assemblies with administration, student leadership, and grade level teams, including awards and certificates for academic growth, attendance, and behavior.
  • Plans staff culture and team-building events with the administration team.
  • Supports grade-level teams with school culture field trips.
  • Support with student acknowledgment system.

STUDENT DISCIPLINE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Informs and counsels students on school and district discipline policies.
  • Oversees office referrals and a discipline database system (SWIS)
  • Manages lunch and after-school detentions (including monthly Saturday schools).
  • Provides behavior feedback and support for students and parents.
  • Models and reinforces school wide behavioral expectations.
  • Supports faculty and staff to develop student behavioral expectations.
  • Manages student investigations and documentation for all student incidents.
  • Informs parents on school and district discipline policies.
  • Analyzes and reports on student behavioral and suspension trends.
  • Manages the implementation of student behavioral plans with the student support team.
  • Creates student suspension letters in accordance with CASLV Discipline Code
  • Administers school site suspensions with the administration team
  • Schedule restorative justice meetings with faculty, staff, students, and parents.
  • Provides classroom observational feedback for faculty and staff.
  • Provide explicit modeling of implementation of behavior expectations for staff, including classroom lesson modeling.
  • Managing the implementation of the social-emotional skills curriculum
  • Provide referrals to wraparound service providers in the school’s community.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the school's operational and academic priorities.
