At L&P Aerospace, we specialize in creating complex tube and duct assemblies using high-performance materials capable of withstanding extreme pressure, temperature, and chemical interaction.

Position Summary:

The inside Sales Manager leads the branch customer service and estimating groups, within the Aerospace Group strategy, managing sales and customer service processes of the company to successfully maintain and develop sales activities into profitable work with current and new customers. This role is a matrixed position reporting directly to the Assembly Division Director of Sales.


Essential Functions:

  • Filter sales opportunities from field business development team to ensure all requirements needed to quote are supplied and, if not, act as primary internal contact to resolve until all requirements needed to quote are present
  • Determine pricing strategy in conjunction with the Assembly Division Director of Sales, prepare submittal of and follow up of proposals, including any required written management presentations and/or in person presentations to customers & stakeholders which may require travel
  • Manage, plan and direct sales staff, including training and performance evaluations
  • Support Business Unit business development team to delineate new customers & opportunities
  • Monitor and manage quote load as well as required metrics & internal presentations to ensure planned growth is being achieved
  • Technical competence to screen customer inquiries and associated models/drawings for full understanding of scope of customer RFQ
  • Work with Aerospace Division and Branch Manager to prepare sales strategy & plans to achieve
  • Participate in defining a sales budget in conjunction with the Assembly Division Director of Sales and the branch management
  • Act as the “face of the customer” within the branch to ensure successful communication through all phases of the business, both administrative and operational
  • Review and as needed establish methodologies and processes for pricing proposals, including challenging proposed manufacturing methods to ensure providing most competitive cost and/or developing “should costs” for target comparison
  • Define and ensure the reliability of the sales forecasts for the rolling 18 month rolling period, by customer and product


Qualifications Required:

  • Competence in Estimating and Should Cost
  • At least 10 years of prior experience developing or working with the technical sales responsibility in a manufacturing environment, 5 years in supervisory roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of study is desired
  • Proficiency in the quoting process and new product development with component validations
  • Skills in business systems related to relevant industrial products
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents
  • Experience in aerospace industry with related products and current range of customers; including airframe OEM’s and sub-tiers a plus
  • Experience with bending, forming, brazing and/or welding of aerospace alloys (SS, Ti, Ni & AL) is a plus
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, including experience presenting to customers
