Revenue Accountant Jobs

Block’s International Accounting Team is looking for a Revenue Accountant that will be an important contributor to our growing team. You will partner closely with the product and systems teams to ensure that Cash App activity is captured and accounted for in our financial statements. You will collaborate with teams across several lines of varying departments, and will continue to inspire creativity in an evolving realm of our business.

You Will:

• Communicate with Technical Accounting, Internal & external Audit and our external accounting service provider.
• Improve business processes, and enhance documentation and controls as part of our SOX compliance efforts.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to build scalable revenue automation processes in Oracle for Cash App’s growing number of products and features, including crypto currency.
• Oversee important reconciliations to support Block’s regulatory compliance obligations, such as safeguarding of customer funds.
• Review current revenue recognition procedures, and implement process improvements to improve the efficiency and timeliness of period close and reporting.
• Partner with Block’s Finance & Strategy team to investigate variances between actual results and forecasts and support the budgeting process.
• Prepare month-end journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules related to Block’s Cash App

You Have:

• Experience with global entity structures and multi-currency environment
• Oracle experience a plus
• 4+ years of accounting experience
• Previous role(s) should include audit, GL accounting, or revenue accounting
• Degree in accounting or finance, professional accounting qualification a plus
• Technical and practical knowledge of revenue recognition standards under US Gaap and IFRS
• Passion for Block and an interest in technology/knowledge of the industry
• Strong Excel capabilities(can perform complex functions) - SQL experience a plus

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $94,400 - USD $115,400
Zone B: USD $87,800 - USD $107,400
Zone C: USD $80,300 - USD $98,100
Zone D: USD $70,800 - USD $86,600

This role is also eligible to participate in Block's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus.
