The General Manager (GM) is the Burger Authority of a single Red Robin Restaurant whether they are on or off the premises. The GM is responsible for communicating and administering all company policies and procedures. The GM embraces an entrepreneurial spirit and is responsible for all aspects of profit and loss, being the top dog of talent & training, daily execution of safety/sanitation, building maintenance, quality food preparation and a superhero for guests.

Bottomless Fun
- Be the Maestro of restaurant operations (primarily Front of House while supporting Heart of House) including scheduling, planning, forecasting, and driving sales while being a champion of culture & bottomless fun.
- Be the delegator of duties and follow up on tasks while remaining accountable overall for the restaurant and Team Members to make sure our guests continue to love coming to Red Robin.
- Have a cheerful spirit while also influencing and adhering to all company standards and policies including the code of conduct, attendance, uniform and appearance policy.

- Emphasize safety, sanitation and security awareness, and ensure that Team Members are properly trained to create safe situations.
- Ensure company standards on equipment, facility, and grounds are maintained by using a preventative maintenance program.
- Regulate compliance with work authorization, liquor service, wage and hour laws and break requirements where applicable.
- Ensure adherence to company cash handling and payment processing procedures.
- Maintain our gold standard following the best practices of the company and brand equity standards to ensure guest satisfaction and profit maximization.
- Do the right thing, even when it’s tough or no one is looking: adhere to federal, state and local laws in addition to company policy, protect company assets, and hold Team Members accountable to these standards.
Relentless Focus on Improvement
- Regularly measure and evaluate service standards by using various feedback tools to develop and implement plans for continuous service improvement.
- Delegate Heart of House (HOH) operations to Assistant General Manager (AGM) and ensure they optimize profit by scheduling labor efficiently and ordering food and supplies to maintain appropriate inventory, portion correctly, minimize waste etc.
- Since we are always striving to be better, prepare reports and analyze metrics to identify opportunities and act promptly to correct.
- Prepare and conduct performance appraisals and one to ones with Management Team and take any necessary disciplinary action in line with company standards.
Genuine Spirit of Service
- We believe in a total team mentality, expect to spend limited time performing hourly FOH/ HOH functions including food preparation, cooking, cleaning, serving and greeting our crazy loyal Guests.
- While overseeing the entirety of restaurant, have a primary focus on FOH operations (hiring, scheduling, etc.).
- Ensure complete and timely execution of corporate & local restaurant marketing programs including off premise catering and sales.

- Remarkable people make us better: The Restaurant Management Team is responsible for the selection, on-boarding and retention of Associate Managers, Shift Supervisors & Team Members through motivation, recognition, coaching and development.
- The GM will be the master motivator and mentor to the Management Team and approximately 50-75 Team Members, Associate Manager(s) and/or Shift Supervisor(s).
- Honor our Team Members by setting performance expectations and monitor training process to ensure quality of training.
- Be a great mentor by devoting time to train, coach and develop team members by adapting to individual styles and motivational needs.
- Require operational excellence, recognize legendary acts of leadership, and develop management staff in all areas of restaurant leadership and Company standards.
Recognized Burger Authority
- Make sure we are the gold standard in taste, quality, and presentation by complying with OSHA, local health and safety codes as well as Company safety and security policies.
- Ensure that Team Members avoid cross contamination, improper food handling and/or storage practices, etc., through proper training and supervision.
- Maintain food quality standards for the restaurant – because nobody does burgers as well as we do.
- Delegate line checks to the AGM, ensuring they uphold the cleanliness standards of the restaurants and pass Health Department audits with exceptional ratings. Partner with AGM on training FOH and HOH staff on proper sanitization guidelines.
Sounds Great! What’s the catch?
- Must be able to obtain alcohol service permit where required by law.
- High school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Managing/Reading P&L experience required.
- Minimum of 2 years full service restaurant leadership experience required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Two years full service restaurant experience at a General Manager level preferred.
- Serv Safe certified recommended.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends and holidays.
- Salary level is determined by relevant experience.
Superhuman powers not required, but you should expect:
- Lifting to 10lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally; Lifting overhead frequently.
- Twists and reaches regularly. Grasps objects to move or manipulate them frequently.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals, heat and a/c, & freezer.
- Frequent hand washing required.
- Listen to and comprehend Team Members and guests over background & equipment noise.
- Must wear personal protective equipment as required by Red Robin and or mandated by federal, state and local regulatory authorities.
- Stand and walk constantly.
- Expect to work with computers, iPad technology for inventory, calculators, copy machines, printers, desk supplies, cash drawers, food products and cooking equipment.
