Tenaya has an immediate need for a Research Associate I to Senior Research Associate I to support the Pharmacology team. Responsibilities
- Participate in cross-functional collaborations, interdisciplinary project team activities; establish and maintain excellent working relationships with collaborative partners throughout the company and CROs
- Maintaining detailed records of experimental protocols and data in accordance with company policy.
- Present findings in both small and large group company meetings.
- Perform routine hands-on work for in vivo experiments and data analysis of efficacy, PK/PD, biodistribution, and safety studies, driving comprehensive and highly integrated profiling of Tenaya drug candidates.
- Participate in scheduling, execution, documentation and analysis of data generated from in vivo animal studies with supervision. Generate study reports for completed in vivo studies with supervision.
- Execute ex vivo experiment and analyses to support in vivo study conclusions or as independent studies.
Qualifications
- Knowledge in standard molecular biology and biochemistry techniques (i.e., RNA, DNA, protein extraction, western blotting, qPCR, IHC, etc.…).
- B.S. or M.S. in pharmacology, biology, physiology, bioengineering or related discipline, prefer to have > 1 year of laboratory experience in industry or academic lab.
- Experience with gene therapy or small molecules is not a requirement but is considered a positive.
- Any experience within vivocardiovascular techniques, such as rodent handling, animal surgery, ECG recording, tail cuff blood pressure measurement, tail vein or eye bleeding, GTT, dosing (IV, IP, PO, SC) is a plus. Echocardiography is a particularly valued skillset.
- Managing multiple tasks efficiently, communicating clearly and effectively, and building open and collaborative relationships are essential.
- A positive attitude and strong attention to detail are required.
- Ability and willingness to work with small rodent animals are an absolute requirement, particularly the ability to perform necropsy to collect tissues forex vivoexperiments and tissue sectioning.
This position is flexible from Junior RA to senior RA depends on qualification. Tenaya considers a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including but not limited to skill sets, experience, interview performance, and organizational needs.
