Who You Are:
The Regulatory Specialist will have responsibilities which include the research of and adherence to FDA labelling and compliance laws. The person hired into this role will take an integral role in establishing new policies and procedures for a quickly expanding company alongside management of specifications. The role will require cooperation and collaboration with members of the Marketing, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to successfully manage the continuous improvement to quality programs and daily work.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Complete research and stay up to date on regulatory laws and standards
  • Maintain accurate, operational, and functional quality databases related to product specifications and regulatory Information, including label management
  • Manage 3rd party certifications for products
  • Approve and maintain various product specifications
  • Review and proof labels and artwork
  • Manage document and version control for operations related documents and programs
  • Support development and commercialization of new products related to marketing label claims
  • Review Sales Customer and Consumer facing content for accuracy and legality: including handouts, presentations, online retail listings and social media posts, among other items.
  • Write standard operating procedures and policies regarding FDA compliance
  • Support packaging quality control and management
  • Lead trainings on regulatory related materials and programs
  • Creation of Ingredient statements and calculations for NFPs
  • Manage relevant QA programs as assigned
  • Coordinate and track all QA related trainings and materials for the company
  • Support other members of the QA department as needed during PTO, Including occasional lab testing or product evaluations.
Requirements
  • 0-3+ total years’ experience working in quality, food safety or R&D with a food or beverage company
  • Action-oriented, results-focused individual with can-do attitude
  • Has recent knowledge of FDA food related regulations, Including the Food Code, CGMPs, and Food Labelling.
  • Capable of switching gears quickly to accommodate needs of a small, fast growing company
  • Team player, able to share workspace and collaborate successfully
  • Professional, clear communicator
  • Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Green Grass Foods does not intend to sponsor work visas with respect to this position
  • Bachelor’s degree in a life science (preferably food science or dietetics) or equivalent total work experience including extensive experience using Microsoft Excel and Word, not including the work experience required above
  • Ability to self-prioritize and work independently, with high attention to detail

  • Base salary range of $65,000 to $85,000 per year, depending on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities
