Regional Vice President of Sales - Builder + Multi Family - Pacific Northwest
Position Overview
The role of the regional vice president is to develop and facilitate the continued growth of the territory manager. The responsibilities range from leading, motivating, training, and directing the TM to accomplishing the corporate goals for his/her assigned brands, developing customer and end user relationships, supporting marketing programs, implementing strategic initiatives and managing region expenses to achieve the business objectives of the organization.
This RVP is responsible for the Pacific Northwest (WA, OR & ID) Builder + Multi Family territory with a preference to live in Seattle or Portland.
Responsibilities:
  • Complete and knowledgeable understanding of the flooring industry and all product categories and brands.
  • Work with TMs to drive product mix to improve margins and profitability. Identify key opportunities.
  • Drive compliance of specifications through the TM. Assist TM in developing end user specifications. Facilitate relationship between TMs and specifiers.
  • Coach and lead territory managers to maximize their potential toward the attainment of business plan objectives. Meets region sales and contribution goals for multi and single family builder in all areas of flooring, Carpet and Hard Surface including hardwood, laminate, resilient, ceramic and sundries by driving business through dealer base and national specifications with a focus on total net sales and margin.
  • Through personal efforts and through efforts of Territory Managers develop meaningful, personal relationships with customers and end users nationally to insure Shaw is viewed as the credible, total flooring supplier of choice.
  • Should allocate appropriate time to spend with each TM. Regularly ride with the TM making sales calls with a focus on coaching and developing the TM. Assist the TM in problem solving and serve as a liaison between corporate and customer as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of Territory Management experience in flooring industries is required.
  • Demonstrated experience developing strong customer relationships and managing large customer account(s)
  • Demonstrated leadership, motivational, and presentation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • 3 years managing hard surface sales preferred
  • Experience working in the Builder channel preferred
  • Strong analytical and business planning skills
