Job Summary

Maltbie, a leading producer of museum and visitor experiences, is seeking an individual to work as part of our Project Management team.In this role, you would be the Maltbie Liaison with Client and professional team to ensure each contract is completed successfully while maximizing profits.Responsibilities would include working as part of a team on a larger project or the direct oversight of one to two projects concurrently and necessitating integration of multiple areas of expertise internally.

This role entails working in an ambiguous environment under fast-paced circumstances.This demands the ability to work quickly, exercise good judgment, work on creative solutions for problems and take action through direct communication with necessary parties to meet deadlines while balancing conflicting stakeholder needs.

Job Specifications:

Work Flow

·Oversee Design Development process integration of drafting, interactives, graphics, and others as necessary to ensure the design is kept within budget targets.

·Coordination and controlling of sub-contractor and supply-only packages closely liaising with the Purchasing, Accounting, and Estimating Departments

·Attendance at regular meetings to ensure project progress is current to project expectations

·Monitoring/controlling of subcontractors' progress

· Coordination of work with other trades (both direct and indirect).

·Manage release of production flow to align with installation phases of the project to minimize deficiencies in timing and deliveries

·Work with the production team to ensure project build is maintained on schedule and on budget

·Controlling/monitoring the quality of work (relating to subcontract as well as in house

works).

·Management of the site team and direct/indirect resources to facilitate the installation phase

Scheduling and Reporting

·Ensuring cost tracking schedule is regularly updated to advise on current project financial position

·Production and updating of fully coordinated Construction schedules monthly to monitor and track project status for all interdisciplinary areas of expertise

·Production of regular progress reports (both in-house and for Client presentations).

·Ensure preparation of Operation and Maintenance manuals

Financial Oversight

·To assist and approve and control subcontractor and suppliers payments/accounts to ensure profit maximization while maximizing positive company cash flow

·Provide prompt and detailed responses to variances in scope and assist in the substation/submission and agreement of such variations

·Assist in the preparation of professional hands-on financial control for projects, including the preparation submission and substation of monthly payment applications

·Aid management in closing out Final Accounts.

·To be aware and ensure the company's financial and contractual position is safeguarded.

Relevant Education

Bachelor's degree in Project Management or a similar field or 3-5 years of work experience equal to including technical expertise in the areas of exhibit development, fine carpentry and fabrication

Job Requirements

  • Solid knowledge on carpentry skills and fabrication processes pertaining to exhibition and museum development and build
  • Operational knowledge of Microsoft systems including MS Project, Excel, and Word.
  • Able to read and understand construction/fabrication blueprints
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
  • Able to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with those connected in the team and in the course of work at all levels.
