Job Description
Project Manager - Advanced Services
FirstLight is seeking a Project Manager to join our growing Advanced Services team!
Acts as the single point of contact for assigned customer accounts which typically have a large revenue scope, have complex product needs, or require significant project administration due to the size of the telecommunications and/ or DataCenter solution. Manages any interactions from the customer order through billing to ensure highest levels of customer satisfaction and experience.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Owns and manages all customer communications or escalations pertaining to implementation of telecommunication hardware and software service(s).
  • The ability to prioritize, organize and exhibit excellent time management skills.
  • Manage the Change Order process.
  • Track and report on project budget throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Responsible for implementation of large and complex telecommunication solutions which includes, but not limited to, creating and maintaining detailed project plans and schedules, understanding unique aspects of projects as well as having working knowledge of the technical and operational specifications.
  • Subject matter expert (SME) with regards to customer contracts, understands all aspects of the customer contract, processes and any other nuances.
  • Manage twenty (20) to forty (40) projects at any given time.
  • Regularly report on and communicate status on all projects to internal senior management.
  • Be a trusted team player, able to partner and influence at all levels of the organization to develop and implement long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Communicates order status in a timely manner to customers via conference calls, emails and phone calls.
  • Delivers project status and presentations to the customers on a weekly or monthly basis depending upon customer requirements, which is delivered via electronic presentations or in person meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLS:
  • Thorough understanding of Data, Voice and DataCenter services.
  • Ability to focus and deliver pro-actively in a dynamic, multi-tasking, fast-paced environment
  • Should demonstrate a keen attention to detail. Must be self-directed, understand the requirements, and take the initiative to complete tasks or assignments with little or no direction
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across organizational boundaries
  • Must possess a current Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute.
  • Must have a telecommunications, data center and/or IT background.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft Project, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experienced in interfacing with internal and external customers alike
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize with good time management skills.
  • Field of Study: Business, Telecom, or related field
  • Experience: 5+ yrs. of telecommunications project/order management experience
