Job Description

Job Summary:

The Production Planner serves as a liaison between the client, sales and manufacturing functions, with overall responsibility for job planning and job technical engineering. This position is responsible for all production activities and will be coordinating, monitoring, and improving production flow.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ability to communicate inefficiencies to sales representative or clients to production.
  • Coordinates any outside services with Purchasing department.
  • Scheduling and estimating jobs to production department to ensure timely completion and delivery jobs.
  • Oversees quality and accuracy of production while staying informed of status of all jobs.
  • Prepares layout and camera card.
  • Reports to Production & Planning Manager.
  • Reviews previously input Bindery department instructions, creates prepress worksheet, coordinates proofs to and from customers for accuracy, initiates mailings, and tracks deliveries.
  • Alerts Sales Representative and/or clients to production issues and assists in overseeing quality and accuracy of production.
  • Processes PO requests for outside services, paper, ink, and die cut materials.
  • Compare incoming jobs with the specifications on the estimate and notes any deviations so that the estimate and/or schedule can be revised.
  • Collaborates with Estimating in devising layouts and production plans so that jobs are estimated according to best practices and processes.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of printing process
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, EFI Monarch software or knowledge of ERP software.
  • Detailed Oriented and organized
  • Good knowledge of color, design, job planning and scheduling.
  • Strong Customer Service and communication skills.
  • Training: 6 – 9 months.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively, take direction from superiors and follow company procedure.

Education and Experience:

  • Experienced Prepress, Imposition, Bindery/Finish background encouraged to apply.
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements: Sitting 20% , Walking 40%, Standing 40%, Lifting or carrying 5-50 lbs. occasionally, Carrying 25-50 lbs. occasionally

Job Type: Full Time

Shift Avilable & Schedule: 1st shift: 8:00am-4:30pm
