We’re seeking a future team member in the role of Site Reliability Engineer to join our Production Services team with a Clearance, Markets, Treasury and Shared Services. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA or Lake Mary, FL – HYBRID.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
You will be responsible for understanding all aspects of the environment, including the application framework, hosting platforms, virtualization layer, network connectivity, and interfaces with our customers.
Maintain the reliability, scalability, availability, and security of our platform and applications.
Deploying new tools to support our systems and services in an automated fashion.
Participate in high-level triages of production issues.
Scale, support, and improve existing services and infrastructure.
Solve performance issues that are live in production and prevent recurrence.
Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree.
12+ years of related experience required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
Deep knowledge of working with network technologies
Good understanding of Linux systems
Experience with large-scale, highly available systems
Familiarity with a broad range of database paradigms
Deep understanding of network monitoring tools and strategies
Familiar with TCP/IP at packet level
Good experience merging Application log data with Network data for a full understanding of how the applications are utilized.

Scripting/Development background
Understanding of Java application

The SRE improves and protects the software and systems behind the organization's technology services, including management of scalability, availability, latency, performance, security, and capacity, and delivering of software faster, better, and cheaper. The principal SRE role aims to enable great customer experience and product innovation by continuous improvement of operational support. Performs end to end identification of customer friction points and resolution. Understands the organization's technical ecosystem to recognize systemic interrelationships while performing gap identification. Demonstrates fluency in emerging DevOps-centric automation tools and technologies for CI/CD, configuration management, etc. for non-prod environments. Scales systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolves systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity. Maintains live services by measuring and monitoring latency and overall system health working with tech support & operation teams. Leverages KPIs to understand service performance & identify corrective action. Creates, manages, and uses dashboard for continuous monitoring and health check of applications, and the underlying infrastructure. Improves the quality of services using the monitoring feedback. Contributes to the achievement of related teams' objectives.
