Job Description
Position Description

The PMO GIS Analyst produces maps, analyses, applications, and programs to support users of GIS.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Geocodes and uses HCAD parcel data.
  • Develops applications and dashboards using ArcMap, ArcPro, AGOL and Cartegraph.
  • Must maintain database standards and quality control measures for all datasets.
  • Converts data from multiple sources to ESRI based products.
  • Researches and evaluates data for specific departmental needs.
  • Reading of legal descriptions and/or surveyed plats.
  • Completes analysis and supporting products of maps, reports and applications using GIS tools.

Requirements

Education:
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Sciences, Planning, Computer Services or a closely related field.
  • Experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to learn to read design and construction drawings, maps, legal descriptions, site plans and plats.
  • The ideal candidate shall be pleasant mannered, attention to detail, organized, efficient, self-motivated, and a team player.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers in general and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferences

Education:
  • Bachelor's or minor in a closely related field of surveying and/or real property.
Experience:
  • Several years’ experience in ArcMap, ArcPro, ArcCat, ArcGIS Online or Cartograph is highly preferred, a background in reading legal descriptions and or engineering plans/plats/drawings is preferred.

  • Monday - Friday

Salary:
  • Based on 26 Pay Periods
  • Commensurate with experience.

Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
