Job Description

We’re looking to hire an energetic, hard working, organized professional who can help our global People & Culture team stay organized and deliver great people programs to our fellow Uptempos. We’re a remote-first company so it is incredibly important for us to deliver an amazing employee experience. This role will be critical in that.

The People & Culture Assistant is a remote role supporting our People & Culture team and employees who span the globe from the West coast of the US and Canada to Varna, Bulgaria. You will work across North American and European time zones, requiring flexibility in work schedules.

The ideal fit will be located in Central or Eastern time zones or someone who prefers starting their work days early. While you’ll be expected to cover these time zones, the expectation is NOT for you to work around the clock. It will be finding the right schedule that maximizes the timezones.

What you'll do:

  • Celebrate our Uptempos by coordinating our milestone anniversary program, posting on Slack and other fun things
  • Support the broader People & Culture team by helping with projects, interview scheduling or any number of other important initiatives that help support our employees
  • You’ll be the glue to help make sure our new hires are onboarding effectively by communicating with new hires, processing paperwork, scheduling onboarding sessions and meeting with new hires on their first day
  • Organize team off-sites and in-person social events like booking conference spaces and ordering catering or any other tasks to support events
  • Schedule company-wide meetings like our All Hands
  • Coordinate compliance training annually and for new hires
  • There’s a lot of great stuff happening in People & Culture so there could be any number of other tasks assigned to you too
  • Keep us organized by helping to maintain electronic employee files

Skills & experience we're excited about:

  • Excellent English communication skills both in writing and verbal (if you speak German or Bulgarian – or both! – that’s a huge plus)
  • A can-do, positive attitude
  • Someone who isn’t afraid to dig into chaos and work hard at figuring unknown things out
  • Service-mindset: We’re here to support Uptempos
  • Someone who has incredible attention to detail and critical thinking skills. We don’t want someone to come in and just check tasks off their list – we want someone who can think through the process / what they are working on to find the best way to do it and if they see something that might be incorrect, they say something!
  • Discretion / confidentiality: You’ll come across a lot of confidential information and it’s critical that it remains private
  • Incredible organizational skills
  • We’re not particular on exact education or years of experience but we want someone who has at least a year of applicable experience working in an administrative role in a corporate / startup environment
  • Professionalism: You’re representing People & Culture and Uptempo when you’re communicating with employees and candidates

We think you would love it here:
