Job Description
Summary
PBX Operator Edgewater (Laughlin, NV) Description:
Assist guests with incoming phone calls, transfers and inquiries regarding facilities and services for Golden Entertainment-owned properties in the Laughlin, NV.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
  • Contact hotel administrative team members via beeper system or cellular phone, as needed
  • Answer all calls for the Edgewater and Colorado Belle
  • Operate hotel computer system to access information for guests and administration
  • Refer guests to available hotels in the area when the hotel is sold out
  • Process various reports and complete daily check lists
  • Answer all incoming calls quickly, courteously and efficiently. Direct calls to the proper extensions/rooms
  • Restrict and un-restrict guest’s phone lines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, as they apply to the position
  • Update management of any problems, suggestions, or questions regarding department operations
  • Page guests and/or patrons of the hotel for phone calls and other messages
  • Call or radio engineering department for service calls and fill out work orders
  • Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards
  • Execute emergency procedures of the hotel, when necessary
  • Perform courteous and friendly service to all staff and guests and be able to speak in a pleasant, quiet and understandable tone of voice
  • Assist in keeping the PBX department neat and all equipment in working order
Requirements
Qualifications
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of reservation procedures, LMS, SDD, Intellidesk and Delphi Systems preferred
  • General computer skills using Microsoft Office; Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
  • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Verify right to work in the United States
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Previous experience with guest service, multi-line phone system and room reservations systems is preferred
  • Type 35 wpm preferred

  • Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs. at floor, knee, waist, and chest levels
  • Occasionally push/pull up to 15 lbs.
  • Occasionally squat, kneel, and communicate via radio
  • Frequently bend, reach, twist, sit, and stand, and use of phone
  • Constant use of hearing and vision, distinguish between shades of color, and use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
