We are hiring a People & Payroll Operations Coordinator to support our payroll and people ops functions. In this role you will help us build the culture and systems of a world-class, mission-driven team. We’re looking for an amazing person who is excited to create solutions that empower employees to do their best work and collaborate joyfully.
A big part of your job will be to support our payroll process and HR processes with team members. Our ideal candidate is analytical and methodical, with experience in U.S. payroll administration. You will be the first point of contact to provide payroll support on a daily basis. We also value integrity, team spirit and strong organizational skills.
Your goal will be to ensure our payroll and people operations procedures are compliant, efficient and current.
- Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports
- Resolve issues and answer payroll and people operations-related questions
- Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades
- Develop systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g. salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third party payments)
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
- Complete full-cycle payroll processing and associated recordkeeping, audit, reporting and administration
- Review payments, filings, reports, notices, documentation, and remittances to ensure compliance with requirements
- Produce written and verbal instructions and training to employees regarding the use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, and payroll self-service features
- Suggest strategy improvement, new offerings, or new systems for staff management or operations
- Plan monthly virtual team events
- Provide support on compensation, equity, and assist with operational reporting
- Coordinate scheduling and support other HR processes as needed (recruiting, onboarding, off-boarding, benefits administration, etc.)
- Outstanding communication skills (written and oral)

- An analytical mind and good math skills
- 2+ years of related experience in a payroll or HR role in which you built and owned people related programs end-to-end
- Team player and collaborates with others constructively and positively
- Organizational and leadership skills
- A keen eye for detail
- Located in the US, work authorization in the US
- Familiarity with payroll software/ HRIS (Experience with Rippling a plus) and Google Workspace (especially Sheets)
- Hands-on payroll operations experience for multi-state company
- Strong ethical and honest approach
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- You love spreadsheets and checking off items in a to-do list
- Self-driven to manage your own work and results with high standards

Juni Learning is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Final compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience as it relates to the role.
Remote, Full-Time, Exempt, Typically Mon - Fri 9:00am - 6:00pm PT
$50,000—$70,000 + Benefits. DOE.
