Job Description
Mandatory COVID-19 Guideline
As of March 15th, 2022, all onsite JSH employees must have received the necessary doses to complete the COVID-19 vaccine series (i.e., one dose of a single-dose vaccine or all doses of a multiple vaccine series) or have been granted a qualifying exemption, or are identified as having a temporary delay as recommended by the CDC. New hires also will be required to comply with this requirement before working onsite at any JSH facility.
Answer inbound calls to the hospital as well as internal calls in a pleasant, professional and prompt manner
Routes calls to the appropriate party promptly and politely
Announce overhead pages in accordance to the JSMC guidelines
Responds promptly to alarms and alerts according to policy while remaining calm.
Provides accurate and timely information, as appropriate, regarding patients, departments, offices and services to inquiring customers.
Maintains records (on call lists, census list, pager list, etc.) completely and accurately
Call "on call" members as defined in JSMC guidelines
Maintains current knowledge about events and organization of JSMC in order to answer visitor questions
Maintains confidentiality of all protected health information.
Maintains current operational knowledge of the computer system and equipment in relation to the PBX functions.
Adheres to policies and procedures as required by Jennie Stuart Medical Center
Participates in and attends meetings and training as required
Required Skills
Required Skills: Ability to handle stressful situations with good judgement in reference to customer concerns.
Good verbal and written communication skills, including professional telephone etiquette
Good organization and time management skills
Minimum Education: High School graduate required; computer classes preferred.
Required Experience
Minimum Work Experience: Reception and/or switchboard experience preferred.
