We are looking for a Operations Supervisor in 5295 Buffington Road, Atlanta, GA 30349 USA. Your mission will be to:

This is a Supervisor position of a small team that requires a hands on management strategy, high level of attention to detail to review large data sets with a high degree of accuracy, the ability to effectively lead through change, and a high degree of initiative.

Grocery store, restaurant, other food retail management, quality control, experience is a HUGE plus.

As a Lab Supervisor, you'll get to go behind the scenes to see, firsthand, how much effort and attention is given to food quality by a major restaurant group. The ideal candidate should have a science and/or quality control background and indicators of leadership potential.

Job Duties:

• Overall general scientific knowledge and conforming to expected behavior when exposed to external customers.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
• Adequately track samples and maintain records for all samples as they are moved through testing. This includes ordering, receiving, thawing, analyzing, and reporting.
• Effectively and professionally communicate capabilities for testing and special projects directly with internal and external stakeholders.
• Primary contact and investigator for non-conformances.
• Set up your workstation for testing; which includes delivery and pickup of individual samples, basic daily cleanup.
• Ensure communication with other groups regarding sample arrivals as well as physical test schedules and samples that are still needed to complete physical analysis.
• Responsible for hiring and training of analysts to analyze food products for various physical attributes based on Customer specific protocols.
• Responsible for all lab testing/personnel scheduling to ensure timely data reporting.
• Maintain accurate data records within Excel and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Use equipment such as a scale, caliper, and texture analyzer to develop protocols and evaluate the physical quality of a food product.

Communication:
Internal Interlocutors: The incumbent has frequent contact with client service personnel and laboratory management to solve difficulties and provide status reports.
External Interlocutors: Some communication with clients.

YOUR SKILLS

Knowledge: The incumbent must have a basic knowledge of microbiology to accurately perform testing procedures
and obtain accurate results.
Profile (required education/qualifications and professional background): Bachelors degree and 2-5 years of relevant work experience or Masters degree. This position requires a broad knowledge of microbiology or chemistry, obtained from a degree in microbiology, chemistry, or related job experience, to analyze and interpret data accurately. A general knowledge of food science is necessary to supervise the analysis of the sample.
Required skills: A broad knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and policies is necessary to ensure a safe working environment. A general knowledge of the Laboratory Information Management System is required to process client data and calculate and record analysis results.
Management (Size and characteristics of the team(s)): Operations Leads and Technicians
Work Environment: The incumbent works in a laboratory setting with proper lighting and temperature control. Occasional exposure to laboratory fumes, chemicals, and materials will occur when in the laboratory. Safety equipment of gloves, laboratory coat and eyeglasses may need to be worn depending on the testing process. The incumbent may use the autoclave daily to complete the analysis process. Continuous lifting of analysis materials weighing up to 50 pounds are necessary to transport media materials. The incumbent can expect extended time spent in a standing position. The incumbent should be able to detect slight variation in shades of colors.
